hello i had this problem and i tried to fix it and now i decided to contact you. the problem is when i make a model to gmod for example outside the model looks good but inside it looks completly invisible. i tried to flip the polygons but it would make the model invisible outside. please could you help me?
The solution for this is for the material to have the $nocull parameter.
In terms of Wall Worm, any material that should export with $nocull just needs to have the 2-Sided checkbox checked before exporting the material.
alright thanks my friend/ il give it a shot
when i click on 2 sided and press on export. 3dsmax is crashing..
That certainly shouldn't happen. Can you send me a file that does this? Do this: Save As ... Archive and then email me the zip file. I'll see what is amiss.
and now i removed the 2 sided to see if it workes and got a leaking 1 element what is that.. and what is your email so i can send the file
Leaking usually deals with the collision hulls.
A couple of things: do you have the latest version of WWMT? Also, what version of Max are you using, and does it have the latest service packs?
I've sent you an IM with my email address.
hello the crashing part is no problem i gave it some time and loaded but still have the leaking 1 element prob and will it be fixed if i make it concave?
Well I'm not 100%. The leaking line may have to do with the hull... but it may also be do to a missing path.
If the folders the compiler is compiling to don't exist, it could be the cause of this. Later versions of WWMT will try to create all folders for you if WWMT has permission. It may be this kind of error...
Post a screen shot of your compile log, WWMT UI settings and a screenshot of the folder where the MDL is supposed to end up.
this and
and the settings..
The error is probably nothing to do with the hull. The error is in the line:
QuoteERROR: 'EXCEPTION ACCESS VIOLATION' (assert: 1)
So to see if it is a hull issue, post the contents of the QC here.
What I think is happening is that the folder where this model needs to compile to doesn't exist and WW is not creating it for you for some reason. Go to that folder and make sure the folder exists. If not, create it.
this is the stuff the qc had
// QC File generated by the Wall Worm Model Tools Version 1.9831
// Get the latest version and notes at:
// http://dev.wallworm.com
$modelname "minijunk/minijunk.mdl"
$staticprop
$body minijunk "minijunk.smd"
$collisionmodel "minijunk_hull.smd" {
$concave
$maxconvexpieces 23
$mass 300.0
}
$surfaceprop "metalvehicle"
$cdmaterials "minijunk"
$sequence idle "minijunk" fps 1
$include "minijunk_wwmt_custom.qci"
In WWMT UI, when your model is in the UI, click the Dir button (right above and to the right of the model path). Does the path open?
yes it does open. which means it makes a folder
The problem seems to be some setting incorrect in the SDK paths or something wrong with the model itself.
Are you able to compile other models?
If so, then I think there is something bugged in the model... and I can only figure that out if you send the zipped model to me.
l try do simple model just to check
it seems that it was the model. it was bad and i apologise for wasting your time
What, exactly, do you think is wrong with the model?
If you send it to me I can probably find out the specific cause.
