hello i need help on how to make perfectly collisions for example if i make a box that is opened it will let me put stuff in it but when i try to do this the box is like closed. how can i please make the collisions perfect :(
I have updated the Collision Hull docs (http://dev.wallworm.com/document/69/collision_hulls_in_3ds_max_for_source.html) to include this example image:
(https://www.wallworm.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdev.wallworm.com%2Fmedia%2F1%2Fimage%2Fpng%2Fpage%2F46_concave_hull.png&hash=cdf9fbad03702b0ba7f90d7a6bc2c78c5c9aff95)
Remember that your model needs to have the $concave option checked in WWMT as well.
so i need to seperate the parts of the collision hull?
Yes, they must be separate. However, they do not necessarily have to be separate objects. They can be in the same mesh as long as each piece is its own separate Element.
Watch this video.
video is too long and all i need to know is hwo to make the collision not all of this stuff :/

Well, in the time since asking the question and until now, you could have watched that video several times. It goes over all the tools in WW to create hulls that match objects and discusses all the principles. I suggest watching it or reading the hull docs on WW. Also, most of the buttons in WW have tooltips when you hover over them to explain them.
To add multiple objects as hulls, select all the pieces and hit Add CM Sel. Make sure $concave is checked.
sorry for that rude message and thanks for simply tell me how to do the collision XD thanks alot /)

Don't sweat it. Just remember that I don't get paid to provide support and expect all WW users to share patience and respect if they wish to receive my input, help and experience.
im sorry to say this but i know i gonna look like a noob but i still cant do it i tried everything. could you please make a simple video on how to make perfect collisions on a open top box? if you have time. please
I'm not sure how much clearer it can be than the image I posted at the top of this page.
Make the open-top box model and assign it to WWMT as the model.
Make the hull. You can do this with five boxes: 1 on the bottom, and four around the sides.
Select those hull pieces and in the WWMT UI select Add CM Sel in the collision hull menu.
It's straightforward.
oh alright thanks i will try it and sorry for bieng a noob
forget it...i did what you told me ands still wont work just forget it thanks anyway for trying to help me
Don't give up so easily :)
Well there is one setting I mentioned earlier but not in last post:
QuoteMake sure $concave is checked.
Also... I'm attaching a sample scene in 3ds Max 2014 format that has a box, a hull and a WWMT already set up.
[DELETED AND ADDED TO POST BELOW]
erm.. im using 3dsmax 2013
OK... here is a newer sample scene zipped in what should be compatible back to Max 2011. I also updated it to include three different box models with different ways of making the concave hulls.
i still cannot do this and this time im gonna post a picture showing the error im getting everythime
YEEEEEESS!!! I DID IT!!! i searched the error and i found a person that said that he had the same prob and you told him something that you need to press process cm and it worked@!! yay im happy and thanks!
just this one problem i have now. how can i fix the Costly Collision Model Handling problem? can you please tell me what can i do?
i did it finally made it!! finally!! thanks for your help and thanks for your old posts that you helped others lol i searched the website and i managed to find the help you helped others and helped me too :D
I am glad you finally got to the bottom of the problem. For future reference, please share all solutions you come up with or helpful threads (with a link) so that others can benefit from them. (As much as I do enjoy helping people... I can sometimes grow tired of answering the same questions over and over--which is not directed at you at all but in general.) So if you shed more light on your solution then it is a little bit more likely for someone else to benefit!
:)
oh i will alright dont worry :) i will make a video on how to simple make collisions very fast :)
