Wall Worm News / Re: WWMT 1.885 Released
January 16, 2013, 11:50:57 AM

This is an amazing tool that just got that much better. Took you advice and got 3ds Max 2013. Thank you again for all your help last night with this tool.

i still can not get a texture to apply to the model in hammer, but im trying to figure that out. maybe it just cant find the material file to associate it with the model. it creates the material file fine, i can find it and open it up, but it is not on the model in hammer.

January 14, 2013, 11:02:20 PM

Hello to all,

I have used this tool before about a year ago and have to say how cool it is and how far it has come since then.  I am making a MOD for a half life 2 deathmatch map.

I am having an issue when i export my models. after it compiles i get this error:

Here are my directory paths i have set up:
-------------------------------------------------------

Modelsrc: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\theladman\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\models

Materialsrc:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\theladman\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\materials

Mapsrc: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\theladman\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\maps

Bin Dir: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\theladman\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin

Game Info: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\leveldesignmod

my QC file has this code:

//QC File generated by the Wall Worm Model Tools Version 1.71
//Get the latest version and notes at:
//http://wallworm.com/projects/utilities/docs

$modelname   "wallworm/Box001.mdl"
$body Box001 "Box001.smd"
$cdmaterials "wallworm"
$sequence idle "Box001" loop fps 30

$include   "Box001_wwmt_custom.qci"

not sure what other files to check would be. let me know if you need to see some other files.

im also using 3ds max 2011 with wonderboy's smd converter. do i need to use Convexity?

damm, now when i open the model in the model viewer is says error loading model?

i have looked all over the steam forums and google, and i cant find a good answer to how to fix this error?

is there a limit to the polygons you can have for steam? my character is 10k. he is urwraped and textured. i have no idea what could be the problem. i did not have to do any coding since wallworm does it for me. i can put up the code that was generated if it helps?

never mind apparently i just cant read. in the compiler it was asking for a models folder not a modelsrc, so once i created the models folder it worked.

i went to the last bin folder in orangebox and i got the batch file to show up, now even when i go to open the character in the modeler, there is nothing in the folder? the compiler also gave me an error message. I have attached a picture of it to this post

WWMT Questions / batch file not showing up

Hello to all,

he is my problem:

I just installed wallworm in my 3ds max 2011. i followed the tutorial on the site to the T. when i export my character model the compiler works fine. when it opens the folder were the files are contained there are the QC, SMD, and QCI files but not batch file. i went to the model viewer anyway to see if the folder was created and it was, but contained nothing? Im using the Wunderboy SMD Exporter. These are my directories for the files:

programfiles/steam/steamapps/sourcemods/tjmod/materialsrc/test

programfiles/steam/steamapps/sourcemods/tjmod/modelsrc/test

programfiles/steam/steamapps/sourcemods/tjmod/bin

is there something im missing here. also this was just a test, i dont have any material on my character, just UV's and animation
