A battlestar is GIGANTIC. not yelling just emphasing . The flight pod is bigger than a aircraft carrier i believe. I've been thinking that i were to make a mod i would make everything very small so these gmod maps are very vast because everything in it is so small. But you the first time your spawn you choose your faction and then spawn as the faction till you change it. You get to fly a battlestar and you launch viper npcs or fly a viper yourself. But this is just thoughts right now nothing in writing. how ever i digress a battlestar might potentially be the size of gm_flatgrass. think about it a single person fits a viper which fits a a launch tube.




These guys are more massive then we might realize. Properly scaled these battlestars dont belong but if everything was scaled down...

Like what guns? Im interested because this is then next step for my ships. Im working up to combat and lua coding.

Thanks this will be great help now my basestar and pegasus should have more accurate collisions when i make them a new one.
Also unrelated to this thread but can you set icons for your props with WWMT? I think you can with VTF Edit.

the way i was trying to make collision models produced that error but now i get fairly good collision models.



also my collision meshes so far consist of-








In this order Galactica,Pegasus, and Basestar



I pretty much disect the models into pieces and creating a ton of physx rbodies, although it ususally takes me around 45 minutes to do each one though.
I only use WW helper when i have my collision model and i just need to turn it into a usable hull.

GUYS i figured it out at 4:30 in the morning i got my basestar a collision model that functioned. Not the model i wanted since it couldnt have all 62 parts that i did want oh..well.More hard work ahead now.

I get this everytime i try and im afraid to spend an hours work trying to get a proper collision mesh out because my model is quite complex.









I would like to know if i need to detach and hide every polygon in my mesh for it to produce a working collision mesh though that will just take awhile for me.

Not scratch though i started with a more basic mesh and i got it into source and decided that it doesnt belong in it....







I would have fixed the mat error for the guns but even so the ship is about 1/3 if not less the than properly scaled and takes up half of gm_flat grass.

I thought 2142 was a great game and the only reason i learned about was because i played bf2. but now its BF3!
