Title: Scaling problems 3ds max and Hammer [SOLVED]
Post by: EliasWick on July 28, 2014, 07:48:23 PM
So I just completed my set of speakers that I've been working on for the past 2 hours. When I were to import them to the engine (Portal 2), the result didn't match.
My speakers were all stretched in hammer but looked fine in 3ds max.

Note that I have not touched anything unusual in the Wall Worm Compiler. No matter what I do, hammer seems to render it in a weird way.
I have my System Unit Scale set to 1 Unit = 1.0 Inches. All of my other props are to the correct size except for this one.
I also tried to modify my Speaker, stretch it extremely, but the result were all the same in hammer every time.

If someone is interested in helping me out, I am more then happy to send you my files.

Here is a sample of what I mean:

More likely than not, this isn't actually a bug in WW. It's likely a result of the model being scaled at the object level--which results in this kind of issue.

Please read this document: My Model Scale is Wrong: All you need to know about getting your model scale correct. (http://dev.wallworm.com/document/127/my_model_scale_is_wrong.html)

You are welcome.

Have you tried building your level in Max instead of Hammer?
