Title: Resizing Model but keep texture scale
Post by: wallworm on January 05, 2016, 01:41:08 PM
You ever wanted to resize a model in Max but keep it's texture scale intact? Or to force a specific scale in the scene? There are a few ways to accomplish this.

1) With some primitives you can use an option called Real World Scale. With those objects, you can check that checkbox and then make sure that each bitmap in object's materials uses the Real World Scale setting.

2) With objects that cannot use Real World Scale: Use the MapScaler modifier. Once applied, you can set a specific texture scaling size and you can go down the modifier stack and rescale the object via it's parameters. The texture scaling will remain intact.

I think we can use Rescale World Units Utility too. Information in this link: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-D694AA44-B687-4954-89AF-E9B396099344-htm.html
