You still don't see the direct links at the bottom beneath the "photos"?

Oh yeah... the photos are on the next thread lol.... is that the issue maybe? I will post one here to avoid further confusion. My bad.

As for the smoothing issue? As I am sure Shawn has said... "abandon the false program of Maya. It is a tool of evil and will only lead you astray from the true Gospel Of Graphics which can only be found through 3dsMax." or something like that.

General Discussion / Broken Vids/ Photos

Any possible way we can delve into this issue? Maybe advise another way of posting them to ensure we can all see each others work? I have taken to posting both the img code and direct link to hopefully assist people in seeing my pics as I post them. If there are other options or a quick fix to the basic problem that would be wonderful.

Nice Model.

My first thought would be "Why a Saturn?" but hen for realism sake... how many people see Porsche, Ferrari or Lamborghini all day long? Real cars that you and I might see/ Own/ Drive are more valuable for the sake of expressing realism in our games. L4D is one of the games that screams realism (in my opinion) in it's maps (minus the undead brain munchers).

Great Model, keep up the good work and can't wait to see some more.

The is the lid and neck of a utility manhole access point. I have to add some more skins to it to allow some variety but they will all look like something akin to this:

Yeah, I am not sure what the issue is with pics/ vids not coming up. I'll post direct links at the bottom of the original post and see if that helps you any.

Well, other than taking my glasses off to blur the texture, is there another way to.... never mind, I know; in Max there is many ways to achive ones goals.... I know, I know.

This is for a specific spot in a map I am working on for holding used nuclear canisters. I designed the original with just brushes inside Hammer some time ago. For the new one I used Max and will be exporting soon with WWMT.

Let's go guys, you can't all be working on nothing at the same time. Can you? Nor can you all be as lazy I am. So, let's make a mid year resolution to start posting more examples of what we are working on (levels/ Models/ textures/ particle systems/ etc).

Do you Wall Worm Brothers a solid and leave a reply of what your impression was of their work.

Thanks for the info. I saw an earlier post about the DirectX shaders being used and was wondering if that was part of the problem or not. At least I know the issue and that it is:
A.) not a bug,

B.) not a operator error.

That gives me some peace of mind for sure.

I have an issue with my video card absolutely. Whole sections of my displacements disappear and I keep loosing my Grid (no I am not hitting the G key). I am just surprised that it behaves this way with Anvil but yet not with Max in general. I think there might be a corrupted code that has anti infidel info in it and is deliberately attacking me. Just a guess.... :P

So for now I will have to forgo the Displacements until I get my beast back up and running. I do appreciate the help and all on trying to figure all my Max issues out.

I was just hoping that by some sliver of our ubiquitous gaming society that someone here might no something of the current state of things there with PD Source. However, I am quite familiar with all web searched info concerning the mod. I am just not sure what happened to it and what if any chance there is for improvements in it and or updates. I would hate to have to buy a N64 just to play it again. But one must do what one must do.

Yes it sux that EA doesn't care about it's customers after they get that first round of cash. It kind of blows. It was a fun game but the available servers started to suffer greatly and now it's BF3 and I just don't think I wish to invest in a company that doesn't want to maintain their products for the enjoyment of those that buy them.

So in the end I'll stay put with CS: Source and GO when I can get it. That will be fine for me. Plus now I am learning Max at the gun barrel backed pressure of the wallworm himself. So it's not like I have time to get into anything new anyways.
