I'm running the Student version of 2010 3DS max
Ok, so I have the Wall Worm tools, I made my model, added materials, but now when I press export VTF it gives me an error message reading "The material export directory does not exist and MAXscript could not create it." I followed nearly everything you did except the material editor in my program doesn't have this large chart with the lines.
I think it would be a lot easier to have a written set of instructions and tell me if I am missing any other addons for 3DS Max
