Title: wallworm didn't export textures
Post by: louie123456789 on July 25, 2015, 08:30:21 AM
When i export my model the model does not read the vtfs and vmts i made for it manually. Not only that i put the materials in the right folder. But textures don't get displayed in game is their something wrong i did in wall worm.

If you made the manually then the problem is 99% likely that the material name (VMT file name) does not match the name of the material on the model in Max. While 99% of the tutorials and instructions people give you for Source are for the older SMD exporters, WW does not by default use the bitmap file name as the material name. Open Max, open your material in the material editor and change the name of the material to the same as your VMT. If you left it at the default the material will probably be something like "01 - Default". Instead, name it "myrealvmtname" if your VMT file name is "myrealvmtname.vmt".

Now re-export the model.

"M" is the default shortcut to open the material editor. From there, it's a good idea to get familiar with it by experimentation and reading the Max docs.
