Title: Displacement Tool 0.6 Released
Post by: wallworm on April 09, 2011, 11:30:31 AM
I've updated the VMF exporter for this tool to include any Wall Worm Model Tool models in the scene. If there are any, the VMF will include them as prop_static be default (or prop_physics if they have any prop data).

Note that at the moment the prop_physics models are offset in the Z axis incorrectly and will have to be moved down in hammer.

Did you end up fixing the problems you had in the initial video? Being able to view textures while painting/painting over multiple displacements?

I can see this being very useful for more complex displacements (cliffsides, etc). Think I'll try it out when I have some time!

Keep up the good work :)

Yes I figured that out by using a DirectX Material.

I still have a long way to go to get the Displacement tool to where I want it. Right now it has some use... but what I really want is an easy design tool for complex landscaping (tunnels, crazy cliffs, etc); for those, it just isn't ready yet... not ot mention it has some quirks I want to weed out.
